"The revered founding fathers of our College are passing the torch of progress to this generation. We must run with it and build on their illustrious achievements"
Esteemed Colleague
I humbly wish to inform you of my decision to contest for the post of First Vice President at the forthcoming Council elections of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) in March 2013 during the annual conference in Lome, Togo. I was privileged to serve the College as Secretary General for six years from 2001-2007 during which I was part of the transformations that brought about the consolidation of the College's autonomy, an influx of youthful talents into management cadre of the College and a number of lasting, progressive changes. Our team embraced information technology to reach Fellows in real time and during that period, the College enrolled a record number of Francophone Fellows into its fold.
The revered founding fathers of our College are passing the torch of progress to this generation. We must run with it and build on their illustrious achievements. There is a lot more to do in bringing the WACS to world-class standards. I hope you will come to Lome and I shall count on your vote at this crucial election.
With warmest fraternal greetings
CHRIS BODE FWACS
Professor of Surgery
